Rugby:Uncapped Llanelli Scarlets forward Aaron Shingler has been called into Wales' Six Nations training camp in Gdansk, Poland.

The 24-year-old Wales Sevens international, whose brother Steven has been engulfed in a row over his eligibility after being named in Scotland’s Six Nations squad, joined up with Warren Gatland’s squad this afternoon and will remain with the party until their return home on Sunday.

Shingler, who can play in the backrow or at lock, has made some eye-catching contributions for his region this season, most notably his length-of-the-field try in Sunday’s Heineken Cup win in Castres.

He provides cover for Newport Gwent Dragons flanker Dan Lydiate, who picked up an ankle injury in their Amlin Challenge Cup success against Cavalieri Prato.
