FOOTBALL - CONNAUGHT LEAGUE/Sligo...2-14 Roscommon...1-9: Sligo booked their place in the final of the Connacht FBD football league for the first time with a sparkling second-half display at Coola yesterday.

Kieran Quinn, who scored a penalty, gave the home side a 1-3 to 1-2 interval lead with a 34th-minute point. Karol O'Neill set John McPartland up for a decisive Sligo goal inside half a minute of the second half to signal the opening of the floodgates. They tacked on five points to stretch their lead 2-8 to 1-4 after 45 minutes.
