McIlroy lets lead slip in Memphis

Golf:Rory McIlroy slipped back down the leaderboard at the FedExSt Jude Classic after carding a two-over 72 in his third round in Memphis.

Struggling to find the fairways, the world Number two also had some poor chips and putts, although he still remains in contention on five under, just one shot off the leaders.

McIlroy carded six bogeys and four birdies in his round after starting the day one day clear after a 64 on Friday. He did finish on a high note with a birdie on the 18th today.

There is a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, with Australia’s Nick O’Hern alongside American Ryder Cup captain Davis Love and his compatriot John Merrick.

Pádraig Harrington carded a one-over 71 and lies on three under going into the final round.
