HURLING - TOURNAMENT FINAL/Kilkenny...1-15 Waterford...2-8: Kilkenny hurlers got their season off to a winning start in the annual AIB tournament game at Walsh Park yesterday.
It was 1-5 to 0-7 in Waterford's favour at the interval, Ken McGrath tapping home their goal. Kilkenny gained a grip after the break and led by 1-10 to 1-6 by the 38th minute as Richard Mullally fired to the net. But Waterfordregained the lead through a free from McGrath. However, Kilkenny finished stronger with five unanswered points.
