WATERFORD CRYSTAL CUP SEMI-FINALS: Cork 1-18 UL 2-13:CORK ARE into the final of the Waterford Crystal Cup after they withstood a stiff University of Limerick challenge at Páirc Uí Rinn yesterday.

Leading by 0-11 to 1-7 at the end of a first half which lasted for 47 minutes due to a delay following an injury to Rebels full back Cian Fogarty, Cork kept their opponents at arm’s length in the second half and the outcome was decided before UL’s Paddy Murphy goaled in the final minute.

Eoghan Murphy impressed for Cork, scoring eight points, though he also missed a penalty that would have made the closing stages easier for the home side.

For UL, Andrew Quinn scored 1-8 and kept the college side in it with his exceptional free-taking.
