Sir, – The new sculpture outside Dublin’s City Hall – a marvellous brightly coloured 5m-high candelabra by artist Alan Phelan – seems like it could be reminiscent of times past.
Could I suggest that this beacon of light may also form a timely reminder to us to stock up on candles given the predicted winters of discontent that lie ahead owing to the possibility of power shortages.
