A claim against women’s ordination that made me laugh

Sir, - Ciarán Mac Guill (Letters, May 8th) made me laugh out loud.

He claims women should not be ordained because of “what Jesus himself instituted”.

Well, Jesus himself picked uneducated, married, Aramaic-speaking fishermen.
