GAA:St Brigid's made a mockery of the pre-match predictions with a stunning 0-13 to 1-8 victory over hot favourites Nemo Rangers in the All-Ireland club football semi-finals this afternoon.

The Roscommon club, semi-finalists in 2007, finally made it to Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day despite being made 3-1 underdogs by the bookmakers.

Nemo’s cause wasn’t helped by some uncharacteristic indiscipline, with both David Niblock and Aidan O'Reilly receiving their marching orders in the second half.

But the day belonged to St Brigid’s, and veterans Karl Mannion and Frankie Dolan in particular, who will now contest their first ever club final.

A thrilling contest was always in the balance, with the Connacht champions only edging matters in the closing stages as points from Gearoid Cunniffe and Senan Kilbride sealed the win.

They will meet the winners of tomorrow’s second semi-final between Kilmacud crokes and Crossmaglen Rangers in March’s showpiece.
