List of Motions and Bills either passed or referred

The Motions and Bills either passed in the Dail yesterday without debate or referred to select committees were as follows:

1. The UN Economic Commission for Europe Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in A Transboundary Context- (passed);

2. The European Charter of Local Self-Government (passed);

3. The Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on climate change (passed);

4. Article 1.11 to the Treaty of Amsterdam and Fourth Protocol to the Treaty of Amsterdam on a proposal on the strengthening of the penal framework to define and prevent the facilitation of unauthorised entry, transit and residence (referred to Justice committee);

5. Article K3 of the Treaty on EU on simplified extraction procedures between EU member states (referred to Justice committee);

6. Council Regulation Extending Provisions of Regulation (EEC) 1408/71 provided by Article 3 of the fourth protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam (referred to Committee on European Affairs);

7. Public Health (Tobacco) Bill 2001 - three technical amendments from the Seanad - passed without debate.
