Tennis:Ireland's Conor Niland has reached the final round of Wimbledon qualifying after a three-et win over Australia's Greg Jones at the All-England club.
The Limerick-man lost the first set 6-4 but broke once in the second set to win it 7-5 and twice in the last for a 6-2 advantage.
The win over the 222nd-ranked Jones sets up a final hurdle against Nikola Mertic, ranked 274, after the Serb recorded a shock win over Russia’s Andrey Kuznetsov.
Niland, who is ranked 187th in the world, will face Mertic on Thursday.
