A man who attempted other robberies the day he was released on bail after being charged with a robbery has been jailed for five years. Martin Reilly (31), Harelawn Park, Clondalkin, Co Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to robbery and attempted robbery on dates in December 1998, and January 1999.
Sgt Fergal Foley said Reilly, along with two youths, robbed Village Stores in Clondalkin on December 21st, 1998, when £160 was stolen. One of the youths threatened a shop assistant with a hammer. The money was never recovered.
He told Mr Feargal Kavanagh, prosecuting, that Reilly continued attempting robberies after he was released on bail for this offence. Man selling drug gets three years
