A man in his 60s was airlifted to Sligo hospital yesterday after he collapsed while on a sponsored walk in Sheemore in Co Leitrim.
The man was part of a group of about 150 people who were taking part in the event.
He collapsed with what is was a suspected heart-attack and was given first aid at the scene. He was airlifted to Sligo general hospital where he was understood to be in a comfortable condition last night.
The rescue was co-ordinated by the Malin Head Coast Guard and Sligo-Leitrim mountain rescue.
