Both unionists and nationalists have criticised policing in Larne, Co Antrim, after a second pipe-bomb attack in as many nights.

In the latest incident a pipe-bomb was thrown through the kitchen window of a Catholic family's house in the Roddens area of the town just before midnight on Wednesday.

A man, his wife and their four children escaped injury as the device did not explode.
