Boxing: The Irish team will return from the European Union Championships in Poland with a grand total of four gold and two silver medals after a hugely successful campaign.

Ken Egan, Darren Sutherland, John Joe Nevin and David Oliver Joyce were the boxers to strike gold while Paddy Barnes and Con Sheehan claimed silver medals.

Cavan teenager Nevin was first to top the podium on Saturday, outpointing home favourite Mazik Mateusz 11-4 in the bantamweight division.

Kildare featherweight Joyce then stopped Croatia's Mirsad Ahmeti before Irish captain Egan (heavyweight) and Sutherland (middleweight) added to the haul.
