If you are looking to trim a few pounds or just generally eat more healthily, going out for dinner can be something of a minefield. The occasional splurge is probably not going to derail an overall move towards better health, but what if your work or living situation means you eat out reasonably regularly?
There are a few tips you can keep in mind to protect your waistline and arteries from too much rich food. You could skip the bread and starter, ask for any sauces or dressings to be served on the side so you can control how much gets on to your food, heap green vegetables rather than cheese-laden potatoes on to your plate and go for a tea or coffee to round off the meal instead of the death-by-chocolate-plus-cream extravaganza. You will still get a decent meal and hopefully the benefit of good company, but you will probably feel more spritely after it.
