Gardaí yesterday released the names of four people, including three foreign nationals, who were killed on the roads last weekend.

The victim of a suspected hit- and-run in Co Offaly on Sunday morning was Arunas Urbelis (30), Whitehall Estate, Tullamore, a Lithuanian citizen.

He was found at the roadside in Cappincur at 4.40am with serious injuries, and was later pronounced dead at Tullamore General Hospital.

In Shankill, south Dublin, a driver in his 20s was killed on Saturday night when his car hit a pole on the M11 at Shankill at about 9pm.

He was taken to St Vincent's hospital where he died a short time later. The victim was later named as William Day (22), Season Park, Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow.

Gardaí at the Bridewell Garda station in Dublin are investigating the death of a motorcyclist whose bike collided with a car at 4am on Saturday.

Zoltan Szafko (31), a Slovakian with an address at Hempton Square, Navan Road, Dublin, died in the crash on the Phibsboro Road. Three other people were injured.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the incident to come forward, in particular a taxi-driver who was in the area at the time.

Meanwhile, a Latvian woman with an address in Trim, Co Meath, was named as the victim of Friday evening's two-car collision in Navan.

Dace Leisavniece (23), was a back-seat passenger in one of the cars that crashed at Bellinter Cross, Bellinter, Navan, at 5.30pm on Friday.
