The chairman of Dublin Docklands Development Authority has asked the Public Accounts Committee to postpone its inquiry into a deal to buy the Irish Glass Bottle site.

In a letter yesterday, chairman John Tierney requested that the committee postpone any further inquiry until legal action in the Commercial Court is completed.

The ongoing action has been taken by Donatex Ltd and property developer Bernard McNamara in connection with the € 412 million deal to buy the site in Ringsend.

The board of the authority reportedly had “serious concerns” about the impact of the proceedings of the committee on its defence in the court case, Mr Tierney wrote.
