Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery in Blanchardstown, west Dublin last night.

A man carrying a gun stole a sum of money from a shop on Main Street shortly before midnight. Gardai were alerted and a male teenager was later arrested and a sum of money recovered.

A short time later, during a follow-up search of a house in Briarswood, Blanchardstown, a woman was arrested an imitation firearm recovered.

Both suspects are being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda station.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the raid.
