A shooting incident is under investigation by Gardai in Limerick after a number of shots were fired at a house in Moyross.

The incident happened shortly after midnight last night when shots were fired at house in the Cliona Park area of the north side estate.

The house was occupied at the time by a family including a number of teenage children, but no one was injured when bullets hit the front door and an upstairs bedroom window.

The incident is the third such reported shooting in a number of months at homes in Moyross.

Last month, gardai investigated two incidents when shots were fired at a house in Delmege Park.

It's understood last night's shooting was an isolated incident and is not connected to the earlier attacks.
