Irish designers earn their stripes

Morganna Murphy, a textile designer who graduated from NCAD a year ago, is steadily making a name for her clothing and bag collections, currently stocked in the Om Diva emporium in Drury Street. This zany striped ensemble is from her graduate collection, but her quirky eye translates commercially, according to Ruth Ní Loinsigh, founder of Om Diva, whose upstairs Atelier 27 workroom now features 19 young designers. Among them is Desiree Pringle and her inexpensive Burgoyne London brand. Pringle is from Dublin but based in London, where she has worked as a buyer for, among others, LK Bennett, House of Fraser and Coast.
