Wicklow health farm for €1.6m

The once famous Powerscourt Springs Health Farm in Co Wicklow is to be offered for sale in the coming week.

Aislinn O'Buachalla of Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking €1.6 million for the substantial commercial building known as Toranfield House on even more substantial grounds extending to 16.6 hectares (41 acres) at Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.

The 1,710sq m (18,405sq ft) building, used up to recently as a treatment centre, is positioned around a central courtyard and includes 20 en-suite bedrooms as well as offices, treatment rooms, leisure facility and a full-size kitchen with a large diningroom with panoramic views over the superb Wicklow countryside to the Sugarloaf mountain. The facility also includes a swimming pool, hidden beneath the floor of a large reception room.

O’Buachalla says that because of the established history of health and medical use of the property there was excellent potential, subject to planning permission, to further develop the business and increase the number of bedrooms and treatment rooms.

She suggests that alternative uses include a nursing home, medical care centre, hospital/ hospice as well as a residential/ educational centre.
