With 365 Bundesliga goals in 427 games for Bayern Munich and 68 in 62 appearances for Germany `Der Bomber' - it is safe to say - knew where the goal was. Muller, now 54 hit hard times, though, after finishing his career in Fort Lauderdale with the Strikers and by the time he returned to live in Munich in 1990 he was unemployed and suffering from alcoholism and depression. Former German team-mates Uli Hoeness and Franz Beckenbauer organised his admission to a clinic and promised him a job at Bayern Munich if he sorted himself out. He did, and since 1995 he has been coach to the club's under-21s.
