Zinedine Zidane believes AC Milan star Kaka has "already signed for Real Madrid", who have now set their sights on Bayern Munich’s French winger Franck Ribery.

An announcement on Kaka's future is expected on Monday as reports continue to suggest he is set to leave the San Siro.

Real are said to be the favourites to land the Brazil international's signature, while Chelsea have denied making a record-breaking offer for his services.

France legend Zidane, who played at the Bernabeu for five years, believes a deal has been agreed to secure Kaka's move to Spain.

"Kaka has already signed for Real," he said today, before graciously adding: "I would be happy if he were to take my number, the No.5, I would not be jealous."

Tellingly, perhaps, Real president Florentino Perez has revealed he is now focused on bringing Ribery to the Spanish capital, as he looks to build a team that can challenge treble-winners Barcelona.

"I'm going to meet with my friends (Bayern president) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and (general manager) Uli Hoeness to ask them about their intentions (for Ribery)," Perez told L'Equipe.

"I hope to be able to count on him for this year."

Perez's first stint in charge was during the famous Galacticos era where Madrid shelled out for big names such as Luis Figo, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane.

Since his return on Monday it has looked like Perez is planning on doing the same this time around, but he insists he is also going to focus on youth.

"I want to build a team with the best players of the world," he said. "With the best Spanish players and not forgetting the academy."
