Sam Allardyce could become Newcastle boss just hours after the end of the season.

Reports in England suggest the Newcastle board will make their move for the former Bolton manager on May 14th - the day after the last game of the season.

Allardyce resigned as Bolton manager earlier this week but is expected to make an immediate return to football management at St James' Park.

One report claims there is tension between Roeder and the boardroom.

Newcastle have made no comment.
