Otago and Chiefs s scrumhalf Toby Morland will join Munster on July 1st after signing a six-month contract with the province.

The 26-year-old will join fellow New Zealanders Doug Howlett and Lifeimi Mafi at the former Heineken Cup champions.

"I wanted a short-term contract for a start," Morland told the Otago Daily Times. "I will then carry on or look elsewhere. I'm keen to get experience overseas and live a different lifestyle."

Morland has played 47 games for Otago between 2002 and 2008 but was not wanted by the Highlanders this year and was picked up by the Chiefs in the draft.
