Portmarnock will be bidding for a senior double in Leinster when the finals of the Bulmers-sponsored Senior Cup and Barton Shield are completed over the coming weeks. Through to the Barton Shield final already, Portmarnock and The Island came through at The Island and they will be joined by Old Conna, Killiney, Elm Park, Kilkenny and Moate in the Senior Cup finals at Rathsallagh on August 27th and 28th.
It was a second week of celebration in Moate after last week's success in the Junior Cup, and one of the stars of the victory over Milltown, Eamon Coughlan, won the deciding match at the first tie hole against Tullamore's Carthage Flanagan. The line-up for the Leinster finals is: Portmarnock v Kilkenny; The Island v Moate; Old Conna v Killiney and Elm Park will play the winners of next week's final qualifying round at Greenore.
