THE IRISH contingent had a successful time in the Isle of Man races over the 37.75 miles TT circuit yesterday and carried off a good share of the prize fund.
Ireland took the team award in the Manx International race over three laps, Ciaran Power of the Ireland under-23 squad won the Viking Trophy event over two laps, and Irish juniors were first, second and third in the one-lap Mannin race with Emmett Hogan the winner.
FBD Milk Ras winner Andy Roche was best of the Irish team in seventh place in the international.
Power, of the Comeragh club in Waterford, was out on his own 28 seconds clear of Steve Hough (Coleville Wheelers).
The Irish trio of Hogan, Mark Scanlon and Derek Finnegan dominated the one-lap event and at the finish Hogan was 20 seconds ahead.
