Sir, - In the ancient Greek city of Syracuse I heard an old Sicilian priest deliver a sermon on the wrath of God. It made me sick, reminding me of the Redemptorist missionaries who terrified me as a child with their talk of fire and brimstone. I thank the loving, caring, understanding God I have come to know that Ireland had moved on. Reading Rory O'Hanlon's letter (January 11th) I am not so sure. I hope we have come too far ever to go back. - Yours, etc.,
Manda Talbotbrady, Upper Glenageary Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
