Model Yvonne Keating has apologised to a judge for wasting court time as
she was spared prosecution for not producing her driving licence after
being stopped by a garda.
The mother of three, who last year separated from singer Ronan Keating, her husband of 14 years, appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday.
Ms Keating (39) faced two summonses under the Road Traffic Act for driving a car without holding a licence, on Swords Road, Malahide, Dublin, in
August last year, and failing to produce her licence after a demand was made by Garda Darren Blackwell of Santry station.
However, in court yesterday she showed her licence to the garda, who said he was satisfied that her documentation was in order and applied for the case to be struck out.
Ms Keating spoke briefly during the proceedings and apologised “for wasting the court’s time”.
Judge Alan Mitchell noted that she had her licence and told her that this is what happened when documents were not produced on time.
However he agreed to strike out the case.
