Frankfurt - Russia's former president, Mr Boris Yeltsin, on a rare foreign visit to promote his memoirs, yesterday met Germany's disgraced former chancellor, Dr Helmut Kohl, with a broad grin and a traditional bear hug, officials said.
The two former leaders shared lunch at a Frankfurt hotel, and aides said Mr Yeltsin had invited Dr Kohl to visit him in Russia to celebrate his 70th birthday early next year.
