US forces found a shackled hostage during their house-to-house searches in the Iraqi city of Fallujah.
US video footage shows marines speaking to the man, who said he was a taxi driver and had been held for 10 days.
The man, who was shirtless and wrapped up in a blanket, had what appeared to be bruises on his neck and back.
A US major said the man, who was not a Westerner, was chained and shackled at his wrists and ankles when he was found in the northeast of the city yesterday afternoon.
