Sixteen long term unemployed people, all in their 20s, are being sent to the US on a six month work experience course by SIPTU and the American Hotel Employees' and Restaurant Employees' International Union. They are drawn from both traditions in the North and the scheme is funded through the International Fund for Ireland.

The project was co ordinated by the Irish Trade Union Trust.
