Two men arrested over Newry sword attacks

Two men have been arrested following two sword attacks in Newry, Co Down last night.

Two men have been arrested following two sword attacks in Newry, Co Down last night.

At 8 p.m. a man was approached by a man weilding what police said was a "long bladed weapon" on James Connolly Square. A short time later another man was attacked on Monaghan Street.

Both men received only minor injuries. A PSNI spokeswoman said two men in their early 20s were being questioned.
