Two gardaí were injured and two men arrested following an alleged ramming of a patrol car in Co Tipperary early this morning.

Gardaí responding to a call at around 1 a.m. in Cahir were in collision with a jeep containing at least two men.

The men, aged 37 and 21 years of age, were questioned at Cahir Garda Station before being released. One will appear before the District Court later this month.

Both gardaí were treated in hospital for minor injuries. A spokesman said a search for other occupants of the jeep was ongoing.
