Two foreign nationals were remanded in custody at a special sitting of Ennis District Court yesterday after they were arrested at Shannon for being drunk and disorderly aboard a flight from Toronto to Rome.

Mr Daniele Patanella, a Canadian national, and Mr Luca Giovanni Pagliari, from Italy, were both charged under Section 65 (3) of the Air Navigation Transport Act, which governs disorderly behaviour aboard an aircraft. The case was adjourned until tomorrow after Insp Tom Kennedy, of Ennis Garda station, said that both men had been unco-operative and one was showing the effects of alcohol.
