A court has heard how the body of a Newry man was found weighed down with concrete blocks in a canal nine days after he disappeared.

At Downpatrick Crown Court, Mr Noel McClory (27) and Mr Damian McShane, (35), both of Park Avenue, Dundalk, denied murdering Mr John McStravick (60) in a drink and drug-related attack last March. Police divers found Mr McStravick's body on March 28th last year, after the two accused men allegedly went to Newry RUC station and confessed to killing him the previous week.
