Three men were being held in Arklow Garda station last night following a stabbing incident on the main street of the town yesterday. A fourth man, who was stabbed in the abdomen during the row, which occurred about 4 p.m., was brought to Loughlinstown Hospital.

A hospital spokesman said last night the man was in a stable condition in the intensive care unit. The three men were being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
