A campaign for the abolition of the debt owed by Third World countries by the year 2000 starts today with a nationwide signature collection. The organisers, Jubilee 2000, say crippling levels of debt in many countries are causing massive poverty in the developing world. Signatures are being collected in many shopping centres around the country.
