Boxing:Ireland's Katie Taylor will fight England's Chantelle Cameron in the semi-finals of the European Union Championships semi-finals in Katowice, Poland after recording a 16-5 win over Italy's Marzia Davide at the Spodek Sports Center today.
The Bray lightweight, who is aiming for her fourth EU title in a row won the first two rounds 4-1 to open up a big advantage and was 12-3 up entering the final round.
Northampton native Cameron beat Spain’s Jennifer Miranda 19-9 yesterday and Taylor admitted it will be her toughest test to date against the former kick boxer.
“I’m expecting a tough fight on Friday. She’s beaten some good opponents out here and her confidence will be high. She throws and lot of punches and it should be a very exciting semi-final,” said Taylor.
