Drugs valued at more than €700,000 have been seized by gardaí in separate searches in Kilkenny and Dublin.

A cannabis cultivation operation was discovered by gardaí at a house at Ballymorris, Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny, early yesterday. More than 400 plants, valued at €360,000, were seized and three men, in their twenties, thirties and forties, were arrested by gardaí at the scene.

In Dublin, gardaí seized 10kg of methylethcathinone at an apartment in the north inner city. The synthetic stimulant, seized at Slaney House, Dublin, was valued at €350,000.

A man (44) and a woman (42) were being held at Store Street Garda station.
