London - The British Home Secretary said yesterday that he would give 24 hours advance notice before announcing a decision on the release or extradition of the former Chilean dictator, Gen Augusto Pinochet, giving each side in the case time to prepare its next move.
Mr Jack Straw is studying last-minute pleas aimed at blocking his stated intention to halt Gen Pinochet's extradition to Spain on health grounds.
