A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation in connection with the police investigation into the murder of Catholic father-of-four Kevin McDaid in Derry last year.

McDaid was beaten to death by a gang of men near his home in Somerset Drive in the Heights area of Coleraine, Northern Ireland, in May.

His friend Damien Fleming was also badly injured in the attack.

The PSNI said today they were were questioning a man (21) who was arrested in the Coleraine area last night.

Yesterday, another man (22) was refused bail at Antrim Magistrates' Court after being charged with the same offence.
