RUC arrest 5 after rioting in Ballymena

Five people were arrested this morning after the RUC came under attack by rioters in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

Five people were arrested this morning after the RUC came under attack by rioters in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

According to the RUC, bricks, bottles and paint bombs were thrown during the disturbances which began last night and continued until 3 a.m. The clashes were centred on the Fisherwick Gardens and Dunclug Park areas of the town.

Seven petrol bombs were seized by the RUC. Those arrested were charged with disorderly conduct and will appear in court next month.
