The French Open remained bogged down in Lyon today with no play being possible before 3 p.m. (1300 GMT) following two days of heavy rain.
Greenkeepers were out in force in the morning, squee-geeing the sodden fairways and emptying flooded bunkers, and the situation was to be reviewed in the early afternoon.
But with menacing skies, it looks unlikely the $1.1 million tournament will finish the four rounds as scheduled on Sunday.
Yesterday, with the deluge in full swing, play was suspended for the day with half the field still out on the course. The start of Thursday's opening round was delayed by four hours.
