A pub doorman in Belfast city centre was charged yesterday with assaulting a customer - whose jaw was broken in two places when he was allegedly beaten with a baseball bat.

Mr James David Rock (24), whose occupation was listed as a boxer, was accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Glenn Craig last May.

Mr Rock, from Easton Crescent in the Cliftonville area of north Belfast, was remanded in custody until August 28th.
