Appointments:The chairman of the Press Council of Ireland, Dáithí Ó Ceallaigh, has announced the appointment of two members.

The new independent member is Patricia Sisk, who replaces Eamonn Mac Aodha, chief executive of the Irish Human Rights Commission, who resigned following his appointment as Ambassador to Belgium. Ms Sisk is a barrister, mediator and psychotherapist.

The new industry representative is Norah Casey, who replaces Rosemary Delaney of Women Mean Business as industry representative from Magazines Ireland. Ms Casey is owner and chief executive of Harmonia publications.

Mr O’Ceallaigh welcomed the two new members, saying they would bring “a great diversity of experiences”.

The new members will each serve a three-year term.
