Three petrol bombs were thrown at police during violence in east Belfast last night.

Three petrol bombs were thrown at police during violence in east Belfast last night.

Stones and other missiles were also hurled but there were no injuries or damage to property in the Ballybeen estate during the disorder shortly before 11pm. Officers later seized a large number of glass bottles.

Police were called to the Craignish Crescent area by reports petrol bombs had been thrown.

Shortly before 1am this morning two petrol bombs were thrown onto the carriageway at Ballybeen.
