Edinburgh - Two inmates at a Scottish jail gave themselves up yesterday after holding a prison officer hostage for more than 20 hours, police said.

A team of special prison negotiators persuaded the pair to free the officer unharmed at Aberdeen's 19thcentury Craiginches Prison, a Grampian Police spokesman said.
