Half of all tourism operators believe conditions for the industry in the Republic will be better this year – up from just 7 per cent who expressed that belief two years ago.

Three-quarters of tourism operators surveyed by Fáilte Ireland said their businesses were more efficient and believed they would do as well if not better than last year. The findings cover January to May of this year and come from a survey of various sectors of the market including hostels, hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, self-catering, caravan and camping sites.
