Police in the Czech Republic are treating the death of a Kilkenny man in Prague as suspicious.

Michael O'Leary (23), of Minauns, Callan, died early on Sunday. He was chairman of the local farming organisation, Callan Macra na Feirme.

Police are investigating the possibility that his drink may have been spiked before he was attacked and robbed.

Mr O'Leary was part of a 23-member group which had gone to Prague on a Macra trip. They were due to return to Ireland yesterday. Another member, Mr Padraig McNally, from the Paulstown branch of Macra, was also robbed.
